While X-Men ’97 is currently taking the Marvel animated world by storm on Disney+, Marvel Studios has more animated series in the shoot.
In addition to Marvel Zombies and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, there is Ryan Coogler’s Eyes of Wakanda.

Created by Todd Harris, the upcoming animated series will follow the adventures of warriors from Wakanda who are tasked with retrieving Vibranium artifacts from around the world.
“Throughout Wakandan history, brave warriors have been tasked to travel the world retrieving dangerous vibranium artifacts. This is their story,” the show’s synopsis reads.

The Series Will Be Set on the Sacred Timeline
While we don’t know a ton about the upcoming series, according to Marvel’s head of streaming and animation Brad Winderbaum, the series will be set within the MCU’s “Sacred Timeline.”
“We’re exploring so many amazing avenues on the animated side. Eyes of Wakanda, more than any other show, fits right into our sacred MCU timeline continuity. [Black Panther director Ryan Coogler] is a producer on it, Todd Harris is one of our long-time storyboard artists who directs it. It’s about Wakandan history and mythology, and it’s really cool. It looks amazing. And it feels like, ‘Okay I’m getting an animated look into the MCU,” he said.

Eyes of Wakanda will be the first Marvel Studios animated series set on the MCU’s Sacred Timeline. So far, What If…? has explored other MCU multiverses, while X-Men ’97 is set in its own universe.
When Will ‘Eyes of Wakanda’ Premiere?
At this time, we do not have a release date for Eyes of Wakanda. The series is expected to debut sometime in 2024.
