Krysten Ritter Hints at a Possible Return as Jessica Jones

Following a creative overhaul, executives at Marvel decided to turn Daredevil: Born Again into a continuation of the original series.

After coming to the realization that other concepts for the series were not working, Marvel chose to lean into the grit and violence of the original Netflix series.

Perhaps more importantly, however, the decision to connect the new series back to its Netflix roots necessitated that Marvel deems the entire Netflix Defenders Saga canon.

As work ramped up on Daredevil: Born Again, the original series, along with Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, Jessica Jones, and The Defenders were all added to the official MCU timeline on Disney+.

With the door now wide open to the former Netflix Marvel heroes, we may see more than just the return of Matt Murdock and Kingpin for Daredevil: Born Again.

Is Krysten Ritter Coming Back as Jessica Jones?

In a new Instagram video, Krysten Ritter, who portrayed Jessica Jones in the The Defenders saga series, seemed to tease that she would soon return as the character.

Sharing a video of herself wearing a Jessica Jones t-shirt on her Instagram story, Ritter captioned the clip “IYKYK” (if you know you know) with the eyes emoji.

With Daredevil: Born Again currently filming in New York City, it seems Riter could be hinting at a return.

The Actress Has Expressed Interest Before

We already know that Daredevil: Born Again will see the return of Charlie Cox as the titular hero and Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin. Additionally, Jon Bernthal, Elden Henson, and Deborah Ann Woll are all expected to reprise their Daredevil Roles.

As Jessica Jones previously teamed up with Daredevil to form The Defenders, it sounds like Ritter would fit right in.

Previously, the actress has expressed interest in returning to the role.

“I would absolutely just die to play Jessica again,” Ritter said in 2021. “I had the best time doing it and I just love her so much. I’m so proud of that character. Not only because it was like a great role and she’s such a bad-ass, but that character has really resonated with people in a way that I don’t know who else has.”

While we don’t have a release date for the series yet, Daredevil: Born Again is expected to arrive on Disney+ in 2025.
