‘Ironheart’ Has Finished Shooting, When Will We See the Marvel Series?

After what seemed like an eternity of waiting, we finally have an update on Marvel Studios‘ Ironheart.

Outside of Kevin Feige’s 2020 announcement that the studio was developing a streaming series based on Riki Williams/Ironheart, details on the project have been scarce.

Ironheart finally formally entered the MCU in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, where she was portrayed by Dominique Thorne. The introduction and heavy usage of the character seemed to lay the foundation for the upcoming streaming series, but no official announcement was ever made.

With Marvel publically announcing that it was overhauling how it made television series, many wondered if Ironheart would be canceled.

Filming Has Concluded

Well, I am happy to report that not only is Ironheart still a go, but the series has also concluded filming!

During a recent interview on the Sundance red carpet, Dominique Thorne teased the upcoming Disney+ series, saying, “Get ready…it’ll be a ride.”

While we do not know a ton about Ironheart’s plot, we do know that the series will reintroduce audiences to the brilliant Riri Williams. The protagonist was not only able to master Tony Stark’s arc reactor technology but also invent a vibranium detection machine that put her in Namor’s sights.

By the end of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Williams had helped save the reclusive nation and was returning back to school at MIT.

When Will ‘Ironheart’ Be Released

The upcoming series was written by a team led by Chinaka Hodge and Sam Bailey, and Angela Banes will direct. Additionally, Ryan Coogler’s production company will serve as one of the producers.

Outside of Thorne, the series will star Anthony Ramos, Lyric Ross, Manny Montana, Alden Ehrenreich, and Sascha Baron Cohen.

While we don’t have a release date for Ironheart yet, it sounds like the series will debut in 2025. I, for one, can’t wait!
