For a generation of fans, Tom Holland is Spider-Man.
Holland’s take on the friendly neighborhood crime fighter was introduced in Captain America: Civil War, where the wide-eyed young hero was something of a Tony Stark apprentice.

By the time we arrived at 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, however, Peter Parker was a full-blown Avenger and primed to lead the group forward in the absence of Steve Rogers and Iron Man.

While many had assumed that Holland’s Spider-Man story would continue with a fourth installment in the franchise, Marvel has yet to announce when the young superhero will return.
Tom Holland Wants To Protect Spider-Man’s Legacy
During a press conference with the Critics Choice Association, Holland revealed that he has discussed the character’s future.

“All I can say is that we have been actively engaging in conversations about what it could potentially look like for a fourth rendition of my character. Whether or not we can find a way to do justice to the character is another thing. I feel very protective over Spider-Man. I feel very, very lucky that we were able to work on a franchise that got better with each movie, that got more successful with each movie, which I think is really rare, and I want to protect his legacy. So, I won’t make another one for the sake of making another one. It will have to be worth the while of the character.”
“I Would Love to Tell Another Story”
While the muted reception to Thor: Love and Thunder, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and The Marvels may give Holland a reason to pause, he still sounds excited about playing the character.

“But that said, if we can figure that out, I would be a fool not to put the suit back on again because I owe everything to Spider-Man. I love the character and the people I get to work with. So, I would love to tell another story, but I’ll only tell it if we can find the right one.”

For now, the future of Spider-Man remains uncertain. By the sound of things, however, we have not seen Tom Holland don the suit for the last time.
